Is there any way to play PSP games with compoent cables on a tv that doesn’t support progressive scan?

I have the same problem, only nobody told me about the progressive scan part. Intensive search on internet tells me there is no way to play games on your TV-set. You can watch movies, videos, pictures and listen to music, but no games. Maybe there will be a downgrade in the future, but as it is, no luck.
